How much do you know about illegal immigration?  There are over 11 million people living in the US illegally today.  What is being done about this important issue?  Political activists on both sides make the problem worse by their own fear, radical ideas, and intimidation.  Neither side is actively working together to find a common solution. 

Mike will appear in person to deliver a pre-film introduction followed by a screening of the film SOLVING IMIGRATION, and an extended audience discussion that includes a solution to the immigration issue.  This solution will be non-partisan and will include all sides of the debate.

In addition to being an award winning filmmaker, Mike Shiley is a freelance photographer and journalist, developing exclusive stories for ABC World News Tonight, Nightline and Good Morning America as well as ABC affiliates KATU-Portland, OR, KMGH- Denver and WFTS-Tampa.

Thank you for sharing your work on immigration with us last night.  I am intrigued by the film and know it will be a great discussion generator for my course on human rights and possibly criminology.  

In terms of dialogue on immigration, I think the public policy on birth on American soil gives one full citizenship rights might be worth researching in terms of the multi-part solution.  

I believe our meeting is a blessing and will enhance my journey of life long learning.
